Food and Land

Food and land form one of the most practical foundations of self-reliance. Food is a recurring household necessity, while land and productive space can support growing, farming, training, storage, processing, gathering, and enterprise. The Sovereignty approach begins at whatever scale is realistic: containers, raised beds, backyards, community gardens, small farms, partnerships, or commercial agricultural operations.
The objective is to increase knowledge of how food is produced, harvested, preserved, stored, distributed, and exchanged.Over time, the framework expands from gardening into agricultural production, producer development, local procurement, farm-to-market systems, and strategic ownership of productive land and facilities. Food production is therefore not the entire sovereignty mission; it is one of the clearest places to begin building productive capacity.
